ur Education Projects in Dang
Youth Foundation Nepal (YFN), with the support of Books for Change, Switzerland, has been implementing education-support initiatives in Dang since January 2020, in partnership with local governments, schools, teachers, parents, and communities. The projects aim to create inclusive, child-friendly, and resourceful learning environments while strengthening teachers’ capacity to use modern educational approaches and technology.

At Shree Janta Secondary School, the project supports a child-friendly library, computer lab, and e-library, along with teacher capacity-building in ICT and library management. The project also provides educational sponsorship support to 30 girls, helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds continue their education. This sponsorship support has continued in Babai Rural Municipality.
Teacher Capacity Building and Continued Support
Since 2020, teachers from both schools have received four school-based training sessions involving the entire teaching staff. In addition, teachers from both schools have participated in three training programs in Kathmandu. These capacity-building activities have covered STEAM education, library management, theatre-based learning, digital content, ICT, and offline e-library systems, helping teachers integrate innovative and technology-supported approaches into classroom learning.
YFN’s support goes beyond establishing infrastructure. The organization continues to provide repair, maintenance, technical support, and follow-up assistance to help ensure that the libraries, computer labs, and e-learning facilities remain functional and useful over the long term.
Through this long-term partnership, the projects have helped build a culture of reading, creativity, digital learning, confidence, and independent learning. The shared commitment of YFN, Books for Change, local governments, schools, teachers, parents, and communities continues to create sustainable and child-centered educational opportunities for children in Dang.
